The top 3 highlights from ITB: Our recommendations

The International Tourism Convention (ITB) in Berlin has been the main get-together for the global travel industry since it was founded in 1966. ITB 2024 not only offered a comprehensive overview of travel destinations, but also presented the cultural and creative dimensions of travel. The fusion of narratives and pop culture in tourism, through events, culinary discoveries, music and art, gives destinations a unique identity and inspires people to have deeper travel experiences. We have selected the following three special highlights from the wide range of impressive activities on offer at ITB 2024.

  1. Wellness tourism – a retreat for body and mind

It is often a challenge to recognize when our body needs a break – especially in stressful times. At ITB, we discovered fascinating retreats that go beyond traditional wellness and focus on mental self-care. These tailor-made recovery journeys offer a wide range of activities – from stress management workshops to yoga training and Ayurveda-Retreats – to harmonize body and mind and contribute to inner balance through relaxation and regeneration. Regardless of whether the body craves rest or the mind strives for inspiration, the wide range of activities and programs allows everyone to enjoy their individual time-out and build a more intense relationship with themselves and with nature.

  1. Sustainable traveling – Your vacation on the right track

Growing interest and awareness are driving the trend towards sustainable traveling and ecotourism worldwide. To this end, travel enthusiasts are even accepting longer travel times on extended routes in order to choose more environmentally friendly alternatives to air travel, such as extensive Train journeys through the most beautiful routes in Europe. An outstanding example of this is the Trip with the “Nordlandsbahn”, Norway’s longest train route, which winds its way through Northern Europe’s breathtaking natural landscapes. Stops along the route are located in magical places, including the idyllic Saltfjellet mountain range, which crosses the Arctic Circle, and Bodø, the European Capital of Culture 2024, where you might even be lucky enough to see the Northern Lights in winter. This impressive combination of both culture and nature offers an environmentally friendly travel experience that makes a lasting impression and is unparalleled anywhere in the world.

  1. Resort Tourism – Vacation with character

At this year’s ITB, vacation resorts and unconventional adventure tours took center stage, with a diverse range of coordinated activities that offered endless exploration opportunities for every traveler, whether solo, with family or friends. Our particular attention was drawn to the offerings of Ethno Retreat in Ibiza. But anyone who thinks that Ibiza is all about partying is wrong. Ethno is all about creating unique experiences that can bring about profound changes within us. This extraordinary retreat is a powerful catalyst to discover a new way of living. It invites you to experience adventures in breathtaking places, immerse yourself in the world of different cultures and people, find yourself on inspiring hikes and enjoy relaxing hours on the beach, surrounded by music and yoga. Ibiza flair meets Soho vibes. It offers a wealth of opportunities to invigorate our senses and enrich our souls. So if you are looking for new experiences in the company of great people and against the backdrop of breathtaking landscapes, you will undoubtedly find what you are looking for at Ethno.
